Carlo
Blackmore is a designer in the NYC area. Some of his
strongest efforts include print ad campaigns, corporate
branding, website design, HTML and Flash development.
"My approach to design is at first neat and
intellectual... but ultimately I just want to throw a
spotlight onto the soul and purpose behind any
communication or form - which is often neglected. There's a
pulse that wants to be felt, as well as seen."
Carlo was born in NYC, and later moved to Philadelphia
where he took to heart that city's mix of culture, art and
social innovation. Whether it was deliberate or not, his
mother [from Barbados]...
"Hi Mummy"....
and father [from Guyana], simultaneously nurtured his
instincts for the arts and sciences. Those instincts led
him to Mechanical Engineering (Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute). And a decade later, those same instincts gave
in to the call of Design. As a result, he found root back
in NYC at D'Arcy Advertising in 2000. Currently, he leads
Creative Design at MicroEdge, a technology company for
philanthropy solutions.
